The Association of Living History Inc. had soldiers marching from most of America's wars, from Rev. War to Vietnam. The Mile High FDC had three fifers marching (yes, John was still the only drummer). You can see more pictures from the parade at the Mile High FDC's website.

Memor!
Peter,
ReplyDeleteSo, when will your fife student(s) be able to join the corps? How much do you typically require them to know before they can begin performing with you? (Just curious.)
I think it is so neat the way you and your brothers all play music together - and you always sound so good! I imagine that it takes a great deal of work and perseverance. :-)
God Bless!

So far I have one fife student, and he is doing well on his music, but we need to work more on marching. Right now we don't have a definite plan for what to require, but what our corps in Missouri did was require a list of songs (about 12) to memorized and played while marching in place (some events required more). It's encouraging to have others to continue the tradition.
