Parker Days Parade, 2012

Last Saturday we marched in the Parker Days Parade. It was a shorter parade, and 'twas a slower parade than usual, which meant that we marched slower with shorter steps, making it a more relaxing parade. The weather was sunny and breezy. Here are a few pictures:

The Elizabeth Stampede Parade, 2012

Last Saturday (June 2nd) we marched in the Elizabeth Stampede Parade. This was one of the first Colorado events that we have done twice. We had a much better place than last year, near the front with quiet groups in front and back of us. We saw quite a few familiar faces at the event, Elizabeth being our home base. Here are a couple picture from the parade.

The storm that caused the event to close down early after the parade was done. It was great weather overall, sunny for the parade and entertaining afterwards.

Memorial Day Picnic, 2012

Last week (May 28) we played at our church's Memorial Day Picnic. It was a bit more informal than most events, and we decided not to dress out. We did this also to preserve our uniforms from the baseball games, etc... The funniest part was when Caleb, John, and I were going to march to meet Thomas at the fields, I forgot to call "Roll off, step off," but meant to, thus Caleb and I started marching off while John did what he was supposed to do and stood in the same place, wondering how far we would go before we noticed the drum wasn't coming with us.

It was good that we could remind people a bit why we were having the picnic by remembering the sacrifices of the men that had fought for us by the means of our martial music.
